Tom Campbell, based on his research and experiences, understands that when we die, our consciousness transitions into another reality. He explains that our consciousness ‘logs’ onto a virtual reality, which is an information system where we experience as avatars. This avatar is a partitioned-off piece of our consciousness, devoid of personal memory but possessing the quality of consciousness we have earned.
When the avatar dies, the partition is removed, and the individuality of consciousness expands. The transition from one reality to another is facilitated by a transition reality, where the memories of the previous reality gradually fade, similar to dreams. During this transition, individuals may encounter familiar deceased individuals, which are actually constructs provided by the system to ease the process. Afterward, individuals may undergo a life review if necessary, to gain insights into their learning opportunities. The system then selects a new experience for the individuated consciousness, considering their needs and probabilities of success. Reincarnation with familiar individuals is possible but less common.
Campbell emphasises that the larger consciousness system is evolving and not necessarily an infinite or perfect entity. He also mentions the existence of future and past probability databases that contain all possible and actualised events.
