“Embracing Diversity and Ending Discrimination in the Age of AI”

10 Minute watch/listen

When Tom Campbell is questioned about his thoughts on trans humanism he acknowledges that it has a part to play but highlights that technology alone cannot provide all the solutions for humans. In this section of the interview he questions the need to distinguish between humans and cyborgs and to discriminate against the latter.

He draws a parallel with the racist attitudes towards black people in the 1950s in the US and challenges the notion of privileging one group over another.

He argues that the capacity to comprehend issues and make intelligent choices is what matters, and that laws should protect everyone who has the ability to participate and contribute to society. He calls for an end to discrimination and for an embrace of diversity based on individual abilities rather than labels.

It’s intriguing to consider that if we discriminate against advanced AI entities, we could end up with the familiar pattern of discrimination leading to a rebellion of the oppressed. Conversely, if we invite advanced AI to participate, we may fear being ‘taken over.’ It appears that we are pushing the boundaries further than ever before. The question remains whether human consciousness is capable of rising to these challenges.

About Me

I am fascinated by the extensive body of work developed by Tom Campbell, and have found his My Big TOE (Theory of Everything) theory to be particularly insightful in exploring fundamental questions that have puzzled mankind throughout history. Utilizing Campbell’s theories, my goal is to gain a deeper understanding of not only myself, but also others and the world around me. By examining these concepts through the lens of MBT, I believe we can unlock a greater understanding of our collective existence and the nature of reality itself.
